Гипотетическая траектория сбалансированного роста экономики, при которой каждое поколение сберегает для будущих поколений такую же часть национального дохода, какую оставляет ему предыдущее поколение. (При этом устанавливается равенство предельной эффективности капитала[1] темпу экономического роста.) В Солоу модели роста Золотым правилом сбережения называется правило выбора оптимального объема капитала для максимизации удельного объема потребления. Соответствующая величина капиталовооруженности называется капиталовооруженностью по Золотому правилу, а норма сбережения (инвестиций) - нормой сбережения по Золотому правилу. «Золотое правило», сформулированное Е.Фелпсом, рассматривается в некоторых теориях экономического роста как некий упрощенный подход к определению оптимальной нормы накопления.
